Jabs at America

I just got back from watching Tom Hank's new movie Charlie Wilson's War. Loved the quote which wrapped up the film, "Those things happened. They were glorious and they changed the world. And then we fucked up the endgame.".

It's a sad and bitterly sarcastic line, but it does make one think about our current situation. History repeats itself, especially for those that have not learned from previous mistakes.

It's amusing to me that the two recent movies I've watched Rush Hour 3 and Charlie Wilson's War (although different genera and style) both managed to jab America's hand in wars.

I wonder if this cycle of fighting will ever cease. Probably not. Everyone's got an agenda. Everyone wants to protect and defend. Each to their own and round and round we go.

Cold And Then There's Cold

This past couple of days has been awfully nippy. I was just out for merely 10 minutes and my fingers which were engulfed in my huge Hellboy claw look-a-like gloves were approaching frozen grade!

I hate being cold. It immobilizes me, rendering me well.. immobile. Tropics... temp above 70 degrees makes me the happiest. I started to look at some of the anatomy sites out there to see maybe it's time I get serious and think about what to do for this year. Writing letters to people, I didn't have much to update. Look at that, it's midnight already.

2008

Well well well, 2008 is finally here. The crossover from 07 to 08 was celebrated through a simple round of "Happy New Year!" at midnight, almost 24 hours ago. I heard fireworks going off but didn't see any through the windows. Hey I just remember I didn't even look at the countdown on TV. Scanning docs was what I was doing in my room. But here it is, 2008. I sure hope this is a better year than 2007. Ah, what will the new year bring? Made some resolutions, would like to complete those by 2009. Dam.. another year has come and went. A lot of things has happened in the last year. Big changes for my entire family. But the good thing is we are all still here and that's the sweet spot.

2008, may this be the turnaround year for the better. Here's to good health and happiness!

Get ready? Set. Go!
